How We Make Money

Short version: Cardsteward is free to read because some of the links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy a policy, a product, or sign up for a service, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. That’s the whole business model, and we’d rather just tell you than make you guess.

Here’s the part that matters more, though: what we recommend is not for sale.

We make money on comparison and education — not on steering you toward whoever pays the most. An insurer or retailer cannot buy a better review here, cannot pay to be ranked first, and cannot pay to keep a competitor off the page. If a provider is a bad fit for a particular collector, we say so, affiliate relationship or not. That independence is the entire reason this site is worth reading. The moment it reads like a vendor’s ad, we’ve lost the only thing we actually offer.

That’s also why we compare providers instead of representing one. A single insurer’s website can tell you why their policy is great. It can’t tell you when someone else’s is the smarter call. We can, and that’s the job.

Who we currently have affiliate relationships with

We’ll keep this list current as programs come online. As of now it includes (or will include) partners across:

  • Storage and protection supplies
  • Business insurance
  • Personal financing
  • Shipping and collection insurance

Some links are affiliate links; some aren’t. When a link can earn us a commission, you’ll also see a short disclosure right near it on the page — not buried down here.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell your data. We don’t take payment to change a recommendation. We aren’t licensed insurance agents or financial advisors, and nothing here is a substitute for advice from one — it’s independent education to help you ask better questions and make your own call.

If you ever think a page reads like it’s shilling for a provider, tell us at jr@cardsteward.com. Keeping this honest is the point.
